Ipsos iris is the UK’s official online measurement tracker, set up in conjunction with UKOM, the governing body for UK Online Measurement. Our panel has been running since 2020, with thousands of panel members helping us to better understand how the UK uses the internet.
Who takes part?
10,000 people in the UK are currently taking part in the Ipsos iris research panel, and we ensure that our panel is truly representative of the UK population. A cross-section of the population is needed to do this, covering all ages and backgrounds, including those who don’t use the internet very often.
So how does it work?
After an initial eligibility survey, we’ll ask you to download our application onto your smartphones, tablets and computers. We then ask that you keep the application installed and running for as long as you are taking part. After that, there’s one more questionnaire to complete. Once you’re all set up, you just use those devices exactly as you normally would. That’s it! If you have any questions along the way, our UK based customer service team will be happy to support you.
Who uses the information collected from the panel?
A variety of different companies – from newspaper publishers to TV broadcasters – use Ipsos iris research. The research helps these companies to better understand how people in the UK use websites and apps, and means they can improve their services.
But what about privacy?
No personal details, such as bank details or passwords, will ever be captured by the application, and we’ll never trace data collected from your devices back to you as an individual. All personal data is held in accordance with GDPR regulations, and we will never sell your personal information to any third party.
So what’s in it for you?
As well as a welcome bonus, our panel members receive rewards every month as a thank you for taking part. Rewards are given in the form of points, which can be exchanged for goods or vouchers for a wide range of shops and online retailers, including Amazon, Spotify, and Costa. You can even donate your points to one of our listed charities.
