TikTok had its biggest ever day in the UK on Sunday, the day that the app briefly went dark in the US.

According to UKOM endorsed data from Ipsos iris, TikTok recorded its highest daily audience (11.6 million) and the most time spent on its app (982 million minutes) in the UK on the day when many US influencers were bidding goodbye to their followers on the platform.

This record level of engagement was helped by the fact that TikTok’s reach continues to expand. In December 2024, 23.2 million people aged 15+ used the TikTok app in the UK, up from 18.8 million in December 2023 (+23%).

While question marks remain over the future of the app in the US, TikTok continues to go from strength to strength in the UK.
