Netflix’s hit Adolescence has been driving national conversation on online safety for children, but what impact has it had on online behaviours?
New findings today revealed that in the weeks following release, there was minimal change in the average use of some of the country’s most popular parental safety apps.
Using UKOM’s endorsed source for online audience measurement, Ipsos iris, we measured usage of YouTube Kids, Microsoft Family Safety and Google Family Link before and after the series released on March 13.
Despite conversations in the media, Ipsos iris saw “limited impact” in the total audience across some of biggest parental safety apps.
Ipsos iris’ findings on parental control app usage is in contrast to recent polling of British parents, which shows three in four (75%) say they’re concerned about what children are seeing, hearing or doing online.
