TikTok may have been capturing headlines in the US recently, but in the UK it’s been capturing our attention.
By using Ipsos iris, we can look at the top 500 most visited apps in February and see ByteDance’s TikTok topped the list for the highest time spent per person on its app.
UKOM-endorsed data from Ipsos iris shows that, on average, TikTok users spent a hefty 19 hours and 21 minutes scrolling through cat videos and dance routines in February, helping the app to leapfrog Meta‘s Facebook, which had topped the list for the last six months.
While TikTok may have beaten Facebook in terms of engagement, there is still a gap in terms of audience: TikTok’s app reached 16.5 million users in February, compared to Facebook’s 38.8 million.
