The first Sunday of the new year has been dubbed “Dating Sunday”; the busiest day for #dating apps of the year. Tinder reported seeing 35% more swipe activity on 1st January as people update their profiles for 2023.
Using Ipsos iris data, we see time being spent on Tinder (1st Jan) was up +181% compared to the previous Sunday. Hinge (+85%) and Bumble (+63%) also saw the “Dating Sunday” boost to their minutes.
Increases from female audiences were much larger than males, with Tinder (+698% v. +53%), Hinge (+153% v. +75%), and Bumble (+104% v. +30%) seeing big bumps in engagements.
