As a record number of people finished running 26.2 miles around London on Sunday can attest: it’s a marathon not a sprint. And the same applies when it comes to donations.

Visitors to the JustGiving site peaked two days before the London marathon

Data from UKOM endorsed Ipsos iris shows that April visits to the JustGiving site peaked on Friday 25th April – just two days before the London marathon.

Visitors were up 137% on the previous week, with an even greater spike seen amongst women (+193%) and over 55s (+240%).

JustGiving users skew slightly older and more female than the total internet population

Last year, all this activity meant that April was one of the biggest months of the year for JustGiving, second only to September, when the likes of Macmillan’s Coffee Morning and the Great North Run took place.
